SWIPE

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Rendition handles information in SWIPE, an iPhone photo organization app. The short version: your photo & video content is processed on your iPhone & is not uploaded to Rendition, while we collect the account, referral, progress-sync, purchase, & operational information needed to provide & protect the service.

Who We Are

SWIPE is provided by Rendition, a business based in California, United States. Rendition is the controller or business responsible for the personal information described in this policy, subject to the law that applies to you.

Privacy questions & requests can be sent to swipe@rendition.studio.

Your Photos & Videos

SWIPE requests access to your iPhone photo library so it can review, organize, sync selected organization choices with Apple Photos, & place items into a delete pile. The app processes photo & video content, asset identifiers, dimensions, dates, durations, & file sizes on your device. Selected identifiers, pending deletion sizes, & progress counters are also backed up to Rendition under your authenticated account as described below. Rendition does not receive your photo or video files or photo content through the SWIPE service.

The vault stores selected copies & related metadata in SWIPE's private app storage on your iPhone. Vault media & thumbnails are protected at rest with authenticated encryption; short-lived decrypted copies are created only in the app's disposable cache while needed for an unlocked viewing or export session. Vault files, Vault metadata, in-app albums, favorites, settings, & other local app state are included when iOS includes SWIPE in an encrypted iCloud device backup. Apple's operating system & backup features handle backup availability under Apple's settings & privacy policy.

You can grant full or limited photo-library access. With limited access, SWIPE can only process the items you select in iOS. Changing or revoking photo permission stops future access but does not itself erase local SWIPE data. If you explicitly use the iOS share sheet, an item is passed to the app or service you choose. Apple Photos & that receiving app or service then handle the item under their own policies.

Information We Collect

Account information: when you sign in with Apple or Google, Clerk processes information provided by the identity provider, which may include your name, email address, profile picture, provider, external-account details, user ID, & session information. SWIPE displays limited profile & connected-account information in Account settings.

Service & referral information: when you use referrals, we store your assigned referral code, optional custom code, redemption relationship, bonus swipes granted or consumed, & related timestamps or account identifiers. The API receives the bonus-consumption count needed to keep your balance synchronized.

Progress-sync information: SWIPE backs up sorted asset identifiers, pending deletion asset identifiers & their sizes, & progress counters to our server under your authenticated account. These records are scoped to your device & photo library so SWIPE can restore sorting progress & the pending delete pile when you sign back into the same account for that library. Linking supported sign-in providers to the same account keeps this information associated with that account; it does not make asset identifiers portable to another device's photo library. This backup does not upload photo or video files, albums, favorites, or Vault files to Rendition.

Purchase information: Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps SWIPE retrieve offerings, validate or restore purchases, & manage Premium entitlements. RevenueCat may process an app user identifier, purchase or entitlement information, receipts, device or app context, & service telemetry. Rendition does not receive or store your full payment-card details.

Operational information: our API, hosting, security, & database systems may process standard technical information needed to operate & protect the service, such as request timestamps, request method & path, status, request IDs, user or session identifiers, device or app context, error information, IP address, & user-agent information where supplied by the platform.

Local app information: SWIPE keeps local copies of your organization choices, albums, favorites, kept & delete-pile choices, settings, usage counts, referral balance cache, & vault metadata & files on your iPhone. The progress-sync & referral records described above are also stored on our server; albums, favorites, & Vault files are not uploaded to Rendition. Local files & app-state records are included when iOS includes SWIPE in an encrypted iCloud device backup, while temporary cache files are not intended for backup. Some local state is associated with your Clerk account so the app can keep separate state for different signed-in accounts on the same device. The vault has no separate item quota & is limited in practice by available iPhone storage.

How We Use Information

We use information to authenticate you, provide & maintain SWIPE, restore device/library-scoped sorting progress & pending deletion choices, synchronize referral balances, provide Premium entitlements, respond to support requests, prevent fraud & abuse, secure our systems, troubleshoot failures, comply with law, & communicate material service or policy changes.

Photo-library access is used only for the features you request. We do not use your photo content for advertising, profiling, facial recognition, training an AI model, or selling or sharing personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Service Providers

Clerk provides authentication & account management & may process identity, session, & provider-linking information. See https://clerk.com/privacy.

Apple provides iOS photo-library, notification, App Store, & payment services. Apple handles data according to Apple's privacy policy & the permissions you grant. See https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.

Google may provide identity information when you choose Google sign-in. See https://policies.google.com/privacy.

RevenueCat provides purchase & entitlement infrastructure & may process purchase, app-user, device, & telemetry information. See https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

We use cloud hosting & database providers, including infrastructure provided through our deployment environment, to run the authenticated referral & progress-sync services & store their account-linked records. Those providers process information under our instructions & their applicable terms.

Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell personal information & do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information to the service providers listed above only as needed to provide, secure, & support SWIPE.

We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal process, protect users or the public, investigate fraud or security issues, enforce our Terms, or protect Rendition's rights. If Rendition is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.

Telemetry, Cookies, & Notifications

SWIPE does not include in-app advertising, session recording, or a separate analytics tracker. Clerk, RevenueCat, Apple, or our hosting providers may collect service telemetry, diagnostics, device context, or security logs as part of their platforms & according to their own policies.

The public Terms & Privacy Policy pages are static pages & do not intentionally use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. If a supported sign-in experience uses the web, Clerk or another provider may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for authentication & session security.

SWIPE reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. SWIPE does not send remote push notifications for those reminders. You can control notification permission through iOS Settings.

Security

We use access controls, authenticated requests, & reasonable technical & organizational safeguards for the limited server-side information we maintain. Data sent between the app & our service is transmitted using standard encrypted transport where supported.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. SWIPE's local Vault media is encrypted at rest but is not a cloud or end-to-end encrypted service. Decrypted cache files can exist temporarily while the Vault is unlocked, & the security of your iPhone, passcode, backups, Apple account, & third-party services also matters.

Retention & Deletion

We keep account, referral, & progress-sync information while your account is active & for as long as reasonably needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, accounting, & enforcement. Operational logs may be retained for a limited period consistent with those purposes.

You can delete your account in Account settings. If your local Vault contains files, you can first move them back to Apple Photos or choose the in-app option to permanently erase the Vault & continue with account deletion. On a successful deletion request, we delete the Clerk user & the referral & progress-sync records maintained directly for that account from active systems, subject to technical delays, legal retention, security records, & backups. A limited reference to a past referral redemption may remain in another user's record to preserve rewards already issued & prevent abuse. Deleting your account does not delete local album organization or photos from Apple Photos, does not cancel an Apple subscription, & does not remove your RevenueCat customer record or purchase history, which RevenueCat retains under its own policy; contact us to request deletion of that record.

To remove local data, delete SWIPE or clear its local app data after confirming that you no longer need anything stored there. Apple controls its own backups & Recently Deleted retention. Local SWIPE data in an iCloud backup is governed by Apple's backup retention & deletion controls.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know or access the personal information we process, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, obtain a copy of certain information, object to or restrict some processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, & appeal a decision about a privacy request. You may also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority.

To make a request, email swipe@rendition.studio. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. We may deny or limit a request when permitted by law, & will explain the reason where required.

California Privacy Disclosures

For California residents, Rendition does not sell personal information & does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The categories we may collect include identifiers & account information, commercial or purchase information, & internet or network activity & operational information. We use those categories for the purposes described above & disclose them to the service providers described in this policy.

California residents may request access to or deletion of covered personal information & may correct inaccurate information where required by law. Submit a request to swipe@rendition.studio. We will not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted by applicable law.

Children

SWIPE is not directed to children under 13, & Rendition does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at swipe@rendition.studio so we can investigate & take appropriate action.

International Processing

Rendition & its service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from the laws where you live. We use the safeguards required by applicable law for international transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SWIPE or applicable law changes. We will update the date above & when a change is material, provide notice in the app or by another reasonable method. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
