SWIPE

Terms of Use

Last updated September 5, 2026

These Terms of Use are an agreement between you & Rendition, a California-based business, & govern your use of SWIPE. By creating an account, accessing SWIPE, or using any of its features, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use SWIPE.

What SWIPE Does

SWIPE is an iPhone photo organization & cleanup app. It helps you review photos & videos, sort them into albums, protect selected copies in a local vault, & place items you choose into a delete pile.

SWIPE is currently designed for iPhone. Features may be unavailable or limited on other devices or platforms.

Eligibility & Your Account

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, to use SWIPE. If you are under the age of majority where you live, your parent or legal guardian must permit your use where required by law.

You sign in with Apple or Google through Clerk, our authentication provider. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in account secure & for activity carried out through your account. Provide accurate information & do not create an account for someone else without permission.

Photos, Permissions, & Your Content

You own your photos, videos, albums, & other content. SWIPE accesses your photo library only after you grant permission & uses that access to provide the features you request. Photo & video processing takes place on your iPhone; SWIPE does not upload your photo or video content to Rendition's servers.

You can grant full or limited photo-library access & can change or revoke that permission in iOS Settings. With limited access, SWIPE can only use the items you make available. If you revoke access, features that need photo access may stop working. You are responsible for maintaining backups of anything important & for reviewing every deletion before you confirm it.

When you share an item through the iOS share sheet, you choose whether to send it to another app or service. That recipient's handling of the item is governed by its own terms & privacy policy, not these Terms.

When you delete an item through SWIPE, iOS may move it to Apple's Recently Deleted album for a period controlled by Apple. SWIPE cannot guarantee recovery & is not responsible for content you choose to delete.

To operate SWIPE, you give Rendition a limited, non-exclusive permission to process account & service data as described in the Privacy Policy. This permission does not give Rendition ownership of your photos or videos & ends when the relevant processing is complete, except where retention is required by law or legitimate security & record-keeping needs.

The Vault

The Premium Vault is a local, passcode-locked photo space separate from Apple's Hidden album. It supports either a four-digit PIN or a password. Vault photos, videos, & thumbnails are protected at rest with authenticated encryption in SWIPE's private app storage; items can be sorted into albums inside the Vault & do not appear in Apple Photos or other apps. A random content-encryption key is protected by the iOS Keychain, & the credential is stored only as a salted hash (with its salt & credential-type metadata) — never in plaintext.

Vault files & metadata are included in an encrypted iCloud device backup when iOS backs up the app. If iOS restores that backup, the protected Keychain verifier is restored with it, so the same PIN or password can unlock the restored Vault — backup availability & restoration are controlled by Apple; SWIPE never stores or backs up the plaintext credential. There is no vault-passcode recovery service or cloud vault. Vault data is stored locally on your iPhone & cannot be viewed or retrieved by SWIPE, Rendition, or anyone else through our services. The vault has no separate item quota; its practical capacity is limited by available storage on your iPhone & the app's local storage. If you forget your passcode, Rendition may not be able to recover the vault contents. Deleting the app or clearing its local data may delete vault contents.

Free Features, Premium, & Purchases

The free plan includes 100 standard swipes per day. The daily allowance resets at 5:00 a.m. local device time; unused daily swipes do not accumulate. SWIPE Premium provides unlimited swipes & is required to create a Vault or add files to it. If a local Vault already exists after Premium ends, your files remain stored in the Vault, but you must resubscribe to Premium to regain access. Other features & limits may change over time.

Premium is currently offered as an auto-renewing monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The current listed U.S. prices are $2.99 per month & $19.99 for lifetime access; Apple may display different currency, taxes, or pricing in other storefronts. The price, currency, applicable taxes, renewal period, & available products are shown by Apple & in the app before you purchase. Apple charges your Apple ID account when the purchase is confirmed.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them through your Apple account at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple ID account settings. Deleting your SWIPE account does not cancel an Apple subscription. You must cancel it separately through Apple.

Apple controls payment processing & refunds. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple & are subject to Apple's policies & applicable law. Restore purchases is intended to restore eligible purchases associated with your Apple account; it does not guarantee that every purchase can be restored.

A lifetime purchase means a non-recurring entitlement to the Premium feature set offered at the time of purchase for as long as that feature set remains available. It is not a transfer of ownership of the app, & it may not be resold or transferred except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Referrals & Promotional Features

SWIPE offers a permanent assigned referral code & may let you set or change one optional custom code of 3–12 letters or numbers. When a new user successfully redeems a code, the person who shared it & the redeemer each receive 1,000 bonus swipes. A user may redeem only one code, & referral bonus swipes do not expire.

Referral codes & bonus swipes are for personal, lawful use. Bonus swipes have no cash value & are not transferable. One person may not create multiple accounts, use automated methods, misrepresent a relationship, or otherwise abuse the referral system. Rendition may limit, correct, suspend, discontinue, withhold, or reverse a bonus obtained through abuse, fraud, or error, subject to applicable law.

Rendition's Intellectual Property

SWIPE, including its name, branding, interface, software, design, graphics, & other materials provided by Rendition, belongs to Rendition or its licensors. These Terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SWIPE for its intended purpose while you comply with these Terms. No other license is granted.

Acceptable Use

Do not misuse SWIPE or use it to violate anyone's rights or the law. This includes interfering with the service, probing or bypassing security, abusing referrals or purchases, using automated access, attempting to reverse engineer or extract the software except where applicable law permits, & uploading or sharing content you do not have the right to use.

Third-Party Services & Apple Terms

SWIPE relies on third-party services, including Apple, Google, Clerk, RevenueCat, cloud hosting, & database infrastructure. Those services may have their own terms, privacy policies, availability limits, & fees. Rendition is not responsible for third-party services or for content you send to them.

If you download SWIPE from Apple's App Store, these Terms are between you & Rendition, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for SWIPE. If SWIPE fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple & Apple may refund the purchase price paid for the app, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.

Rendition, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to SWIPE or your possession or use of it, including product-liability, consumer-protection, privacy, or intellectual-property-infringement claims, subject to these Terms & applicable law. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using SWIPE. To the extent required by the App Store rules, Apple & its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms & may enforce the terms that apply to the licensed application.

Availability & Changes

SWIPE is provided without a promise of continuous availability, uninterrupted access, or error-free operation. We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features, including referral & Premium features, with or without notice where permitted by law.

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will provide notice in the app or by another reasonable method & update the date above. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept a change, stop using SWIPE & delete your account.

Account Deletion & Termination

You can delete your SWIPE account from Account settings. If the account's local Vault contains files, you can first move them back to Apple Photos or choose the in-app option to permanently erase the Vault & continue with account deletion. Account deletion removes the Clerk account & the referral records maintained directly for that account from active systems, subject to limited retention described in the Privacy Policy. A limited reference to a past referral redemption may remain in another user's referral history so we can preserve rewards already issued & prevent abuse. It does not cancel an Apple subscription, delete photos from Apple Photos, or erase local album organization from your iPhone. Your RevenueCat customer record & purchase history are retained by RevenueCat under its own retention policy; contact us to request deletion of that record.

You may stop using SWIPE at any time. Rendition may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms, create risk for other users or the service, or where required by law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, & dispute provisions, will survive.

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SWIPE is provided "as is" & "as available" without warranties, express or implied. Rendition does not warrant that SWIPE will always be available, secure, accurate, or error-free. You use photo organization, the vault, sharing, & deletion features at your own discretion & risk.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rendition will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or content, including photos deleted at your direction. Rendition's total liability arising out of or related to SWIPE will not exceed the amount you paid Rendition for SWIPE in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 United States dollars if you paid nothing, except where applicable law does not permit that limitation.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, or takes away non-waivable consumer rights. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Disputes & Applicable Law

If you have a concern about SWIPE, please contact us first at swipe@rendition.studio so we can try to resolve it. Any dispute will be handled under the mandatory laws & consumer-protection rules that apply to you. These Terms do not waive rights that cannot legally be waived or select a governing law or court where doing so would be unlawful.
